This novel is truly 1 of the most shocking, disturbing, unsettling and thought provoking books I have ever read...the story concerns Isserley who travels the highlands of Scotland picking up male hitchikers, her only requirements they must be tall strongly built and healthy............

...the content of this unbelievable story, forces us to confront our humanity or lack of it,the prose is seductive, morally powerful, darkly humorous, unsparingly efficient and beautiful...

Sounds like a very deep interesting book, also sounds kind of haunting and mysterious to me...

its bloody weird and when you discover the reason why the hitchikers must be big healthy specimens, you are physically shocked, the truth is almost too much to comprehend..

Lol! Wow ... I can't imagine being a prison guard, walking through the prison and hearing singing. And Goblin I also can't believe you know this from past experience.

It was just an overnight in a police cell, not real prison, I know it far too well.
